After lunch we visited a fudge shop and they handed out samples of fudge. The special of the week was buy one pound and get half a pound for free, so we walked out of there with a pound and a half of fudge, six different flavors: Peanut butter, blueberry cheese cake, coconut almond, lemon, pistachio and regular chocolate. My favorite part of the trip was the Kris Kringle Christmas shop. It was full of sparkles and lights. Daddy carried me through the shop and at one point I almost fell asleep under my floppy sun hat until a woman who works there lifted my hat to see my face. She thought I was cute, but she woke me up.
On our way back to our car we stopped at an ice cream shop. Mommy got a scoop of rainbow sherbet (no milk for my tummy). And Grandpa got a scoop of licorice ice cream. He shared it with grandma. You should have seen their tongues. They were the darkest green color I have ever seen. Mommy got a picture of them with their colored tongues sticking out. She wanted me to post the picture, but I didn't want to do that to them.
On the way home we were going to stop by a big waterfall, but I was getting really tired of sitting in my car seat. I wanted to get home and I made sure that everyone in the car heard me. I screamed for a long time. I accomplished my goal because we didn't stop. I am sure they will drag me out again, but hopefully the next trip will not be as long. Other than sitting for too long, I think we all had a good first day.

HI y'all! It looks like everyone had a great time in the mountains. I look forward to seeing my granddaughter very soon in person. Just hope it won't be too long in coming.
Keep up the fun little one, love Pappy and Neenee says hi too.
Dear Sophia,
I'm so glad you got to meet your grandpa and grandma G. They are really special people. It would really be nice if you could talk your mom and dad into coming to KS for the Hulda Goossen reunion. She is your great grandma, and is excited that we are going to do it. Did you know that you are a member of 80 people in the Goossen family? Well, you will be when your great-aunt Kathi gets married in Sept. She will become a step-mom of 2 little boys, and that brings up the number to 80! WOW!
Oops! I made a mistake, Kathi is your mommy's cousin. What was I thinking?
