Worn Out

What a week!  I am worn out.  Monday was kind of leisurely and thank goodness because I was already worn out from the weekend, but the rest of this week has been full of activity.  Tuesday mommy and I visited a friend of hers and she has a little girl just like me.   Her name is Violet and she is only two weeks younger than me.  Mommy told me that she is really cute and one day, when we are old enough to be aware that the other is in the room, we could be friends.  I would like to be friends with Violet. 

On Wednesdays daddy plays soccer with his team from work.  It is a co-ed team so both boys and girls play together.  The weather was really nice and I was tired of being cooped up in the house all day so all three of us drove out to Marymoor Park.  I get bored pretty easily so mommy and I weren't able to watch daddy play the whole game, but we saw most of it.  I like watching the people running back and forth on the bright green fields.  Unfortunately his team lost 0-1, but daddy plays on this team more for the exercise than the competition.  It ended up being a pretty late night for me.  We didn't get home until after my bedtime and it was hard for me to wind down after the exciting evening watching daddy play soccer.  

Thursday evening brought another first for me.  Mommy and Daddy took me to their favorite Mexican restaurant called  Taqueria Guaymas in Shoreline.  Daddy ordered his favorite pollo con creme and mommy got the pollo en mole.  For dessert they had Churros.  I don't remember dessert, or even the meal because sometime after ordering, I went into a daze and fell asleep.  It must have been all of the lovely white noise with people talking and dishes clanking.  I might let them go out to another restaurant.  It wasn't too bad.  

The tongue game

This one is for Daddy.  He showed me how to play this fun game with my tongue.  He sticks out his tongue at me and wiggles it all over the place.  It makes me laugh and then I stick my tongue out at him and it makes him laugh.  We could do this for hours.  It is such a fun game I thought I would try it with mommy this morning while she had the camera out.  We wanted to show daddy that I had on my cute orange pants, so this tongue game was a bonus.  

4th of July Weekend

What a weekend!  Friday was the Fourth of July.  Since it was a holiday, daddy got the day off of work to spend with me and mommy.  It was a really nice day so we decided to take the ferry from Edmonds to Kingston and have lunch across the water.  I don't remember the trip over there because I slept the whole way.  The vibrations of the ferry motor put me right to sleep.  I woke up as soon as we docked though and daddy carried me off of the ferry because I was tired of sitting in my stroller.  Mommy and daddy had lunch at a crepery.  They split a savory grilled chicken crepe that had spinach, almonds and a lemon dressing on it and they had a dessert crepe with peaches, raspberry jam and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Boy, I can't wait to get teeth!  

The ferry ride back was an experience.  I haven't had the pleasure of getting my diaper changed in public very often, but I sure needed a change.  The ferry has a family toilet room that is big enough for all of us to go into. They have a baby changing station in there and mommy had to prop it up with her knee while daddy changed my diaper or I would have slid right off.  Guess they don't safety check those tables very often.

When we got home, we went over to our back yard neighbor's house for bbq dinner.  We didn't stay very long because I was getting hungry and tired from my long day.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a very good night sleep because every where around us these really loud pops and bangs were going off.  Every time I would fall asleep I would get woke up by these noises and they scared me.  Luckily, our back yard neighbor had given us a CD with a recording of a vacuum tonight.  Mom and Dad put that CD on for me and turned it up really loud until the noises (they told me they were fireworks) stopped and I was finally able to sleep.  Wonder if I will ever get used to those sounds.  

We didn't do much on Saturday.  Daddy watched me while mommy did some speed shopping for some casual summer clothes.  She gets tired of wearing t-shirts and gym shorts to keep cool.  (She's been watching too much of TLC's "What Not to Wear")  The new clothes make her feel better and more presentable, even if it's just around the house.  I like the bright colored shirts that she brought home.  She bought a cute skirt to wear to my Baptism on Sunday too. Daddy went to hit golf balls in the afternoon while I took my nap.  They told me that I am still too little to go do things like that with daddy.  One of these days I might be hitting my own golf balls.

Sunday was all about me.  I got all dressed up and we went to church for my Baptism.  (see my dress with my tights and mary jane socks?  Our good friend Sean picked this dress out for me and the Quiriconi's gave it to mommy at our baby shower.  It is size 6M, but it happens to fit me and I am only 7 weeks old!)  It was hard for me to sit still and be quiet in church so daddy had to take me out and walk around a bit.  When we came back in, the three of us went up to the front of the church and pastor said a few words. He baptized me by scooping up water with his hand and putting it on my head.  I happen to like water, so I was good and didn't cry.  I did let out a little yell near the end to let everyone know that I was happy.  So many people came up to tell me how cute and alert I am for my age.  It was a little overwhelming with all of the people and the loud organ music, but it all went well.  We spent the rest of the day in the back yard.  Mommy and daddy played in the garden pulling weeds and trimming plants while I took a nap in my swing.  I wish every weekend was a three day weekend.

Surprise

Today I surprised mommy.  We were in my room and she was showing me how to clean it up.  I was sitting in my bouncy chair watching and she laid a rattle next to me.  When she turned her back, I reached down and picked it up.  Boy was she surprised when she turned around and I was holding it up to my mouth.  I haven't shown her that I could do this until now.  She ran and got the camera and we had a photo shoot showing off my new talent.  Oh, and you can see my bouncy chair friends in this picture too.  There is an elephant and an alligator, but my favorite is the zebra because he is black and white.  He even has a rattle in him that makes sound whenever I kick my feet.  

It's a good day

Yesterday mommy and I took a trip to the store.  I like to sit in my carrier and look up at all of the lights that are hanging from the ceiling.  I also like the car ride.  It puts me to sleep because I like the movement and the sounds.  They are soothing.  Mommy tells me it has the same affect on her too.  Silly mommy.

When we came home, it was afternoon and the house was warm.  Mommy took my clothes off and we played on the tummy time mat that Aunt Richell sent to me.   I rolled around on the mat and cooed and laughed.  My tummy felt much better today than it has in a long time.  Mommy has tried to reduce the amount of dairy that she has been eating and I think that has been helping. Hopefully she will keep it up for awhile longer until my tummy can handle whatever is in the milk and cheese that is making me feel bad.  But, today was a good day.

Day at the Beach

So we had a great weekend over the past couple of days!  The temperature finally was over 80 degrees and actually made it up to the low 90's on Saturday and Sunday.  So what better way to spend a warm afternoon than at the beach.  Mommy, Daddy, and me went down to the waterfront near downtown Edmonds.  I got to take a nice stroll in my stroller (well, half stroller, half Daddy carrying me).  We walked through the sand and down to the water.  I didn't put my foot in or anything but Mommy and Daddy (M&D) did and they said it was coooolllld!!  There were actually some kids out swimming but I can't imagine how they could stand how cold it was.  It was a hot day though so I guess it felt pretty good.

On Sunday we spent a little time watching the Spain vs. Germany soccer game on TV.  I don't know who was who but I liked the black and white uniforms one of the teams was wearing.  Daddy was pulling for Spain who he said was wearing red.  I didn't really care that much I just liked the black and white going back and forth on the TV :)

After the game was over we went to a little store that is some kind of kids outlet store.  They had some clothes on sale that Mommy picked for me I liked for $3 that normally sell for $25.  I have to meet these babies that spend $25 on a little skirt.  Maybe they don't grow as quick as I do and can stay in those clothes till' they're 4 or something??  Maybe they're hobbits :)

OK, guess that's it for now.  I'll have to write later to tell everyone what's happening during the rest of the week.  Looks like the temperatures are going to go down to around low 80's again this week.  90 is ok for a day or two, but without A/C in most of the homes and businesses around it gets a bit much.
