Birthday Cake Plate

Here is the final fused glass birthday cake platter.  We didn't get to use it for Sophia's first birthday, but we will have it for every birthday from here on out.  Happy Birthday Sophia.

Just another day...

...at the beach with my sunglasses, bucket and shovel...

... and the beautiful green trees, puffy white clouds, and giant drift wood logs.  (This view brought to you by the recent renovations to the Edmonds Beach Park.  Previously there was a huge rock jetty and concrete wall that separated the off-leash dog park near the trees and the beach where we play in the sand.  The view has definitely improved!  Thanks City of Edmonds!)

My First Birthday Day

Getting ready for the big day by putting on my own shoes.  I tried to do it myself and then I had to ask mommy for help.  It won't be long before I can get them on all by myself.

Smile, I'm ONE!

I love to watch pin wheels spin in the wind so I got some on my cake.  I laughed when daddy blew on them and made them turn.

It took me some time, and a little bit of help from daddy, to get this messy, but here I am with cake all over my face... and hair... and shirt...  (hee hee hee)

I love to drag my stroller and Dolly around the house just like a little mommy.

Princess-mobile

This is my princess-mobile.  Aunt Meg got it for me for my birthday.  It is the hit of the neighborhood.  I like to cruise up and down the street in front of my house.  Sometimes Juliana will come out and play with me.  She likes to ride and I like to push so we both get lots of enjoyment out of it.  Sometimes she will bring out her shopping cart and let me play with that while she plays with my car.

I like to sing while I ride in my car.  The ride is bumpy so it makes my voice sound funny.  Thanks Meg for my fun, fun car!

A Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's House

Ready to help with the yard work!  A wheelbarrow just my size.

Even after a hard day of work on the Buffalo Ranch, Grandpa still has energy to help me ride the tricycle.

Grandma showed me how to push the button to start Grandpa's work 'car'...  I couldn't get enough.  I love how pushing buttons makes things 'GO' ... like the remote for the TV and the keyboard on a computer... and big things that we can ride!

We got to go out and take a close up look at the Buffalo.  They are huge!  While we were out in the field, we found this mother's day balloon.  We found two balloons while we were visiting and Grandpa found one the day before we arrived.  Grandma joked that they never have to buy balloons to celebrate any national holiday because if they wait long enough, they will find one in the field.  Seems this is where lost balloons come for vacation too.

Life is easy for the littlest one on the Ranch, but it would be a little easier if my legs were just a bit longer so I could peddle this trike myself.  I had fun visiting everyone in Kansas.

Swimming Lessons

Today was my last day of swim lessons.

I like to float.

I like to splash.

And I like to play with the water toys.

Here's my report card for the session:

I still have lots to work on, but I made a lot of progress in eight sessions.
